Victorian based promotion Australian Fighting Championships hits The Melbourne Pavilion this Sunday, 22 March with AFC 12 in what will be the promotion’s first event in a cage since the cage ban was lifted earlier this month by the Labor government
A 12 fight line-up is scheduled for the event with talented Byron Bay based, Brazilian fighter Daniel Almeida facing off with XFC Narre Warren product and coach, Jamie Abdallah. They meet for the vacant AFC Light Heavyweight Championship.

The co-main event for the vacant AFC middleweight title, will be contested between Victorian Daniel Way and New South Welshman Zein Saliba. Way is coming off an impressive stoppage over Joe Muir back in August while Saliba had his first appearance since a stint on The Ultimate Fighter – Nations, when submitted Maui Tuigamala back in November to earn himself a shot at the title.
Also on the card, former VFL and Geelong Football Club listed player Peter Davenport takes on New Zealand striker James Bishop while Lance Ettia squares off against Dan Ginnane. Judoka Kitt Campbell will look to impress once again when he comes up against AFC newcomer Matt Eland.
Daniel Schuardt has had a change of opponent after Daniel Gibbons was forced off the card. Stepping up on late notice is AKA Thailand’s Issey Buangala, who is coming off a spectacular first round finish over Jarod Barke at Hex Fight Series 2 last weekend.
