The UFC 191: Johnson vs Dodson II fight card for September 5 in Las Vegas is set, with Aussie strawweight Alex ‘Astro Girl’ Chambers securing a place in the main card opener against her opponent Paige ’12 Gauge’ VanZant.
Chambers (5-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) is coming off a late come-from-behind submission of Kailin Curran at UFC Adelaide in May. The win followed the 36 year-old Sydney-sider’s submission defeat at the hands of Aisling Daly at the Ultimate Fighter Finale in December.
Highly touted youngster Paige VanZant (5-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) is undefeated in the UFC after two appearances. Like Chambers, the 21 year-old Alpha Male product also holds a stoppage win over Kailin Curran, that was in her promotional debut in November last year. Most recently, VanZant outpointed Felice Herrig at UFC on Fox 15 in April.
UFC 191 will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 5 (Sunday, September 6 in Australia).
