Two fresh match-ups have been announced for the UFC’s return to Sydney this November.
Australian featherweight Alex Volkonovski will now take on Peruvian fighter Humberto Bandenay after Volkanovski’s original opponent, Jeremy Kennedy, withdrew due to a back injury.
The 23-year-old Bandenay (14-4) is coming of a stunning knockout victory over The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America season 3 winner Martin Bravo. The fight, which was Bandenay’s debut inside the octagon, lasted only 26 seconds.
Volkanovski (15-1) is currently riding a 12-fight win streak which includes two wins in the UFC since making his promotional debut last November. He picked up a TKO victory in his UFC debut and recently got a unanimous decision win over Mizuto Hirota in Auckland this past June.
Meanwhile, Belal Muhammad will now take on Tim “The Dirty Bird” Means.
Muhammad (14-2) was originally set to fight Jesse Taylor before the Ultimate Fighter winner was pulled from the card for a potential USADA doping violation.
Means, (27-8-1) has had an up and down career inside the UFC. He last fought Alex Garcia where he picked up a unanimous decision victory.
UFC Fight Night 121: Werdum vs. Tybura will take place on November 19th at Qudos Bank Arena.
