Following his impressive UFC debut in November, Australia’s Alex Volkanovski will make his Octagon return this month when he comes up against promotional newcomer Michel Quinones at UFC Fight Night 105.
The event takes place Feb. 19 at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and will headlined by a heavyweight scrap between Derrick Lewis and Travis Browne. In the co-main event, Hector Lombard makes his return against Johny Hendricks in a middleweight bout.
Now riding an 11-bout win streak, Volkanovski (14-1) made his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 101 in Melbourne, dominating Yusuke Kasuya before stopping the Japanese fighter with punches in the second round.
Hailing from Coral Springs, Florida, 32 year-old Quinones (8-1) is currently enjoying a five-fight win streak with his most recent victory coming against Caio Uruguai at Titan FC 43 just last month.
Volkanovski vs Quinones will be contested at featherweight. News of the matchup was first reported by TSN.
