Australian Fighting Championship have announced their 2016 debut for March 19 at the Melbourne Pavilion. As it has been for the last couple of years now, Victorian MMA continues to charge forward with some solid fights announced for the state in early 2016, in particular, Alex Volkanovski vs Jamie Mullarkey for the AFC featherweight title sits at the top.
With both fighters enjoying impressive win streaks, the two have been on a collision course for some time now. At AFC 15, they’ll meet arguably to decide the top fighter in the fast-expanding local division.
The AFC 15 main event will see undefeated light heavyweight champion Jamie Abdallah drop to middleweight and square off with undefeated Brace champion Rob Wilkinson for the AFC middleweight title.
The other fight announced at this stage is a featherweight tilt between Kaan Ofli and Nikos Trepca. The promotion has also revealed an eight-man lightweight tournament will commence at the show, with Ben Wall, Sam Hayward, Mikey Vaotuua, Rob Hill, Peter Davenport, Gokhan Turkyilmaz, James Bishop and Chris Drummond all locked in.
