It looks like Sydney based veteran Anthony Perosh will get another opportunity to fight in front of his home-crowd, with the light-heavyweight reportedly set to face Brazilian fighter Guto Inocente in Sydney.
Guto Inocente announced the fight via social media overnight with the bout expected to take place on November 8 in Sydney. The event is yet to be officially announced by the promotion.
At 41 years of age, Anthony Perosh (14-8 MMA, 4-5 UFC) is the second oldest fighter on the UFC roster behind Dan Henderson. The Aussie last competed back in December on the main card of UFC Fight Night: Hunt vs Bigfoot, but was dominated by Ryan Bader to lose via unanimous decision. Prior to that, Perosh’s two fights lasted a combined 21 seconds where he lost to Ryan Jimmo via KO seven seconds into the fight back in July 2012, only to return a year later to defeat Vinny Magalhaes via KO in just 14 seconds.
“Guto Inocente” (6-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) will be dropping to the light-heavyweight division after making his UFC debut as a heavyweight back in July in what was his first bout in over two years. The 28 year-old lost via a first-round KO to Derrick Lewis. Prior to that, the Brazilian fighter was on a four-fight win streak outside the UFC which included a bout under the Strikeforce banner back in 2012.
The UFC had previously announced that they were looking at returning back to Sydney in the second half of the year. The last time the UFC visited Sydney was back in March 2012 which was headlined by Martin Kampmann taking on Thiago Alves.
