Australian Fighting Championships is going international in 2017 with the Melbourne based promotion announcing AFC 18 for Shanghai, China on March 12.
The event will take place at Xian Olympic Stadium and will see local fighters Rob Hill and James Bishop collide for the promotion’s lightweight title in the headliner.
The promotion has moved into a joint venture with local businessmen and has partnered with one of China’s largest media and cultural conglomerates Shanghai Media Group (SMG) to televise events in the country, according to the Herald Sun.
It’s unconfirmed at this stage, but a live stream of the event for Australian based fans is also likely.
AFC has hosted over 17 events in Australia since 2010 with their most recent offering (AFC 17) taking place in October last year.
