Popular Australian fighter Bec Hyatt will return to fight on the next Invicta Fighting Championships event if reports from MMARising.com prove to be true with an article stating that Hyatt will face Japanese youngster Mizuki Inoue on the Invicta FC 6 main card.
MMARising.com confirmed negotiations are underway through a source close to the negotiations however is still subject to commission approval. Invicta 6 is set to take place in July with an exact date or venue yet to be made official
Hyatt (5-2) is coming off a fresh first-round submission over Austrian striker Jasminka Cive at Invicta FC 5 earlier this month. Hyatt wasted no time in taking the fight to the ground, where she was able to dominate before securing the armbar submission, only 3:30 into the fight. Hyatt will be looking at getting herself back into title contention after stepping up on late notice at Invicta FC 4 to take on Carla Esparza for the Invicta Strawweight Title. Hyatt was out-wrestled to lose the unanimous decision.
At only 18 years-old, Inoue (5-1) is fresh from high school and has been active competing in MMA and Kickboxing throughout the past few years. All her competitive MMA bouts have been fought in the Jewels promotion, with all victories coming via submission including a notable victory over Australian fighter Alex Chambers back in March 2012.
Invicta Fighting Championships 6 is set to be headlined by a promotional Featherweight Title fight between Marloes Coenen and Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos. It will be a rematch of their 2010 battle which was won by Santos. Reports are also circulating that Carla Esparza will return to defend her Invicta Strawweight Title against Ayaka Hamasaki.
