Melbourne based heavyweight Ben Sosoli and Hex Fight Series flyweight champion Charlie Alaniz have both been added to this weekend’s Pacific Xtreme Combat (PXC) 56 card.
The show takes place Saturday night at the UOG Calvo Field House in Guam. You can find a free live stream of the event right here at Fight News Australia.
Sosoli (3-1), the brother of former AFC heavyweight champ Brandon Sosoli, has not competed in MMA since his win over Andrew Machin back in 2015. The 28 year-old, however, hasn’t been totally removed from combat sports competition recently having fought a number of pro boxing bouts since the victory.
The Aussie is set to meet 24-fight veteran Kelvin Fitial (13-8-2, 1 NC) at the event. Fitial, 33, is a PXC regular who recently dropped his first bout in seven starts, losing in a rematch against Guam’s Roque Martinez.
Following his time on “The Ultimate Fighter: Tournament of Champions” series, Charlie Alaniz (8-2), who claimed the Hex Fight Series flyweight title in 2015, suffered a KO loss at the hands of Japan’s Masanori Kanehara late last year at DEEP Cage Impact 2016.
The 31 year-old will be eager to right the ship when he faces another Japanese fighter in 21 year-old Seigo Yamamoto (2-2).
New Zealand’s Kai Kara-France was originally set to meet Japan’s Go Minamide at the event, however an injury to Minamide has forced the fight to be canceled. A new opponent for Kara-France was not found.
The event will also see Hex Fight Series regular JJ Ambrose take on Takahiro Ashida.
