The Tszyu family moved to 2-0 against the Horn family, as the younger siblings Nikita Tszyu and Ben Horn met on Wednesday night.
Nikita walked away with the victory and valuable minutes inside the ring. He went to work on the body but Horn didn’t budge and made the fight messy, at times trading punches inside the centre of the ring, particularly in the last round where Horn landed giant shots that tested Tszyu’s chin.
The scorecards came back 60-54, asdfasdfasfdasfdasdfasfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdf
Nikita took it as a good learning experience, calling it an ideal fight in his rise up the ranks.
“That was the perfect fight I could have had. These are the ones you learn the most from and develop the most from. Ben, he is tough, as tough as they get and a pleasure to share the ring with,” Tszyu said post-fight.
Horn was complimentary to his opponent.
“I love seeing him bleed, as much I like the man. He is a top dude. Great fighter and I can see him going a long way. I hope to see him win a World Title one day, along with his brother.”
The bout headlined the Fox Sports televised card which took place out of the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney.
In the semi-main event, Sam Goodman successfully defended his WBO Oriental & IBF Inter-Continental super bantamweight titles with an eighth-round stoppage over Filipino opponent Juan Miguel Elorde.
Goodman was a step ahead from the opening bell, easily out-landing the shots in what was a clinical and career-best performance. The 23-year-old moves his record to 12-0.
I thought I fought a very disciplined, smart fight. I listened to my corner and the game plan we constructed. It worked to a T. He is a game boy. He has been on the world stage and that is where I want to be,” Goodman commented post-fight.
