Phuket Top Team trained Brad Terrey picked up his second consecutive win on Sunday night as he defeated little known Australian David Alexander who reportedly trains out of Rancho Chokeamungus.
The two clashed on the Pacific Rim Organised Fighting – PRO FC 9 card held at the Luxy Contemporary Nightlife Complex in Taipei city, Taiwan.
Alexander made his intentions clear early by looking for a takedown attempt which was defended by Terrey. When the fight did get to the ground it would be Terrey who would dominate, taking the back where he looked to lock up the rear-naked choke submission. At 4:45 into the fight, Terrey was able to finish the fight with an elbow and follow up punches to score the TKO win.
Originally from Gold Coast, Terrey has spent the last few years living and training in Thailand. He has fought around Asia in countries like Philippines, Myanmar and Thailand with this win being his second in a row to take his professional record to 5-3. He is also undefeated in the four Muay-Thai bouts he has had in Thailand.
Two New Zealand fighters were also victorious on the card with Mark Abelardo scoring a unanimous decision win over American Scott Eclavea, while 22-year old John Vake also won a unanimous decision, defeating South Korean Jae-Sung Oh.
There was a shock in the main event as recently released UFC fighter Will Chope lost a unanimous decision to Ki-Bum Moon. It’s a big blow for Chope who has been keen to earn his way back to the UFC after being released from the UFC due to prior disciplinary reasons.
