Queensland promotion Xtreme Fighting Championship (XFC) makes it’s first trip across the Tasman this weekend with former title challenger Brogan Anderson headlining against Rick Alchin.
The event, XFC 33, takes place at the Edgar Centre in Dunedin, New Zealand on Saturday night.
Training out the Hammerhead MMA gym in Dunedin, Brogan Anderson (9-3), fights for the first time since losing to fellow countrymen Matt Vaile back in May in what was a shot at the XFC welterweight championship strap. The loss halted a five fight win streak for the 28-year-old who also spent time training at the acclaimed Jackson Wink academy in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Taking on Anderson will be Rick Alchin (15-13), who is fresh off a fight just three weeks ago. He made quick work of his opponent Jeff King, earning a first-round TKO victory. Prior to that though, the Magnus MMA trained fighter lost his previous two outings including a Brace championship bout against The Christakos. Career wins over the likes of Tristan Murphy, James Klingner and Steve Micallef, prove that Alchin, on his given day, can match it with the best locally.
Also in pro fights on the card, team-mates of Anderson and Hammerhead MMA trained fighters Craig Masina and David Watts will clash with Jo Van Duin and Iain blade respectively.
