Potieria attempted a double-leg takedown to start the opening round, but Ulberg quickly stifled his attempt and started to set up his strikes. Both fighters exchanged strikes to find their range and feel each other out. However, the Kiwi landed a big left hook as Potieria began to pressure him against the fence, knocked him down and followed up with hammer fist strikes to end the fight.
“I saw his head go down, his eyes roll back. I knew he was done,” Ulberg said.
Since losing his UFC debut in March 2021, Ulberg is making leaps and bounds in skill every time he steps into the octagon, demonstrating his knockout power with three consecutive first-round finishes. The Kiwi now holds a professional record of 9 wins and 1 loss.
