Celest Hansen has done it again.
The Thailand-based Australian Muay Thai star pulled off another wild comeback to claim a split decision over England’s Dani Fall at ONE Friday Fights 17 on May 19.
Fall came out swinging in the opening round, backing up the usually aggressive Hansen with a relentless onslaught.
After a back-and-forth second round, however, a bloodied Hansen got to work.
With blood pouring from a cut around her hairline and her right eye rapidly swelling shut, the 29-year-old marched forward and unloaded heavy punches on a dazed Fall.
While she was unable to close the show this time, the judges awarded the win to the elated Aussie, who was quick to call for a shot on a ONE Fight Night show in future and respectfully called out Thai prodigy Petjeeja.
The Road to ONE: Thailand winner’s latest epic followed a come-from-behind win on debut in February, when she stopped Kalaked Por Muangpetch in the final minute of a fight in which she was likely down on the scorecards.
It’s been a big week for Hansen, who officially signed her US$100,000 contract with ONE at a press conference in the scene of the weekend’s fight – the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand – on Thursday.
