Aussie UFC middleweight champion, Robbie Whittaker, is back training again.
Whittaker was set to defend his belt against top contender Luke Rockhold at UFC 221, in Perth this February. However, ‘the reaper’ was forced to pull out due to a staph infection that moved to his stomach, leaving him in a “serious condition”.

“Pumped to get back to work,” Whittaker said on Instagram on Monday afternoon, indicating he was back training following the illness.
It is not clear when Whittaker will return to the octagon, but he will most likely face the winner of Luke Rockhold and Yoel Romero. They fight for the interim middleweight-belt on February 11, at UFC 221 Perth – The first UFC to be held in Western Australia.
