After yesterday’s spectacular performance, Australian grappler Craig Jones was unable to get past the semi-final stage of ADCC 2017 World Championships today.
The championship, which takes place every two years, is this year being hosted in Finland and is being streamed live via subscription on FloGrappling.com.
Competing in the under 88kg division, Jones proved no match for Keenan Cornelius, losing 13-0 on points and followed that up with a 2-0 loss for the bronze medal position to Alexandre “Xander” Ribeiro.
The 26-year-old Melbourne based grappler had grappling fans talking yesterday, submitting both Leandro Lo and Murilo Santana on day one of the event.
Cornelius will now battle Gordan Ryan to become the under 88kg champion.
As reported yesterday, both Kit Dale and Lachlan Giles were eliminated in the first stage after drawing tough opponents.
