Queensland lightweight Damien “Beatdown” Brown will square off with Mariana Islands fighter Frank Camacho at UFC Fight Night 121: Werdum vs. Tybura in Sydney next month.
The fight was first reported by mma-today.com and confirmed yesterday by Frank Camacho in a video blog.
Brown (17-10 MMA, 2-2 UFC) is coming off a first round KO defeat at the hands of Californian Vinc Pichel at UFC Fight Night 110: Lewis vs. Hunt in Auckland. The 32 year-old Aussie’s two UFC victories have come against Jon Tuck and Cesar Arzamendia.
With just six days notice, Camacho (20-5 MMA, 0-1 UFC) made his UFC debut in June when he stepped in to face China’s Jingliang Li at UFC Fight Night 111: Holm vs. Correia in Singapore. The 28 year-old former PXC champion found himself on the wrong side of the judges’ scorecards on the night, but did walked away with Fight of the Night honours for his efforts.
Taking place November 19 at Qudos Bank Arena, UFC Sydney will be headlined by a heavyweight bout between Fabricio Werdum and Marcin Tybura. The updated lineup can be found here at our event page.
