Damon Upton-Greer put a long-running rivalry with David Butt to rest on Saturday night in Launceston, Tasmania, outpointing the former Eternal MMA champion in the closely contested Valor 15 main event.
It was the third time the two lightweights had met in the cage. In their last encounter, back in 2013 at Valor 6, it was Butt who came out on top with a first round KO. The victory followed his submission loss to Upton-Greer earlier that same year.
It’s the second loss in a row now for Butt after previously losing the Eternal lightweight title to Greg Atzori late last year. Upton-Greer, meanwhile, makes it two wins in a row after submitting Stephan Friedrich in February.
Flyweight Christina “Creepy” Tatnell made a successful return to competition in the co-main event and has now won five on the trot with a quick fire TKO of Belinda Sedgwick.
Valor 15 took place at Launceston’s Polish Hall.
