New Zealand’s Dan Hooker will step up to the lightweight division and take on British veteran Ross Pearson at UFC Fight Night 110 in Auckland. The Kiwi announced the matchup on New Zealand radio earlier today.
UFC Fight Night 110 takes place on June 11 at Auckland’s Vector Arena. The event will be headlined by a heavyweight collision between Mark Hunt and Derrick Lewis.
Hooker (13-7 MMA, 3-3 UFC) found mixed results as a featherweight and will be looking for a fresh start after dropping a unanimous decision to Jason Knight late last year in Melbourne. The 27 year-old started his UFC career at the promotion’s NZ debut back in 2014 where he stopped Ian Entwistle with brutal elbow strikes in the first round.
Pearson, 32, (19-13 MMA, 11-10 UFC) will also be eager to get back on track after suffering a career first three-fight skid, most recently losing a split decision to Stevie Ray at UFC Fight Night 99.
