Undefeated lightweight fighter David Martinez will headline Coast Combat 5 this Saturday when he meets New Zealand’s Iain Blade.
The event takes place at the Coolum Civic Center on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
After an impressive amateur run, Martinez (2-0) headlined Coastal Combat 4 in his professional debut back in September. There the Ignite Gamebred trained fighter stopped Peter Templer with elbows. He returned to action two months later, edging a split points decision victory over Ethan Thomas.
Iain Blade has stepped up on late notice to replace team-mate James McBride, who succumb to a back injury as he was finalising his fight camp. Blade is listed with a 1-3 record and has lost back-to-back fights, last one occurring in late 2017.
Also on the card, Tyrell Hogan takes on Justin Van Heerden in a bantamweight bout while Karateka Brandt Cogill faces Nathan Wilson at welterweight.
