Ev Ting will have strong support of the Malaysian crowd when he headlines One Championship’s return to Kuala Lumpur, where he will face veteran Kamal Shalarus.
The event, One: Throne of Tigers will take place at Stadium Negara on February 10.
Ting (12-3) is of Malaysian Chinese ancestry and has called Auckland, New Zealand home from a young age. Training out of the Auckland MMA gym, Ting has made a name for himself inside the One Championship cage having defeated the likes of Edward Kelly, Honorio Banario, Eric Kelly and most recently Australia’s Robert Lisita. His lone loss in the promotion has come to the hands of current champion Marat Gafurov and the 27-year-old is eager for chance at redemption.
Stepping in his way will be Iran born former UFC/WEC fighter Kamal Shalorus who returns to action for the first time since losing to Shinya Aoki back in August 2014.
Further match-ups for the card are expected to be announced shortly.
