Kiwi fighter Faith Van Duin will make her return to Invicta FC on September 24th (AEST) when she takes on highly touted bantamweight prospect, and former Invicta title challenger, Irene Aldana.
Van Duin is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Charlene Watt at BRACE 41, where she made her first appearance at bantamweight, after suffering a devastating first round KO loss to reigning Featherweight champion Cyborg Justino in July of last year.
Her opponent, Irene Aldana, is considered a rising star in Invicta notching up three wins for the promotion all of which came via KO or submission. Despite losing to the current champion Tonya Evinger last year, Aldana is one of the few fighters to take her into deep water, lasting until well into the fourth round before being finished by strikes.
With a dominant performance over Aldana, it’s highly likely that Van Duin will be catapulted to the top of the bantamweight division and get a title shot at Evinger who is currently undefeated since joining Invicta in 2013.
