With the UFC choosing not sign the majority of the flyweights that appeared on the most recent season of The Ultimate Fighter, Kiwi contestant Kaiwhare Kara-France has signed with Japanese promotion Rizin.
The 23-year-old announced the news via social media earlier today.
“Excited to announce that I will be fighting for the promotion ‘Rizin’ December 29th in Tokyo Japan,” Kara-France commented.
Seeded number 9 in reality show competition, Kara-France won the opening fight in spectacular style, knocking out number 8 seed in his opening fight before losing his next bout to Alexandre Pantoja via unanimous decision.
Prior to the reality show, Kara-France had won five straight with all coming via stoppages due to strikes including wins in Guam promotion PXC.
