Just 4 weeks removed from his axing by the UFC, George Sotiropoulos has found a new home with the Kansas based, Titan Fighting Championship.
The 36 year-old Aussie has inked a four-fight contract with the promotion, and according to Titan FC, is expected to make his debut in April at Titan 28.
The former lightweight contender was handed his marching orders by the UFC last month, following his fourth straight defeat in the promotion at the hands of KJ Noons in October of last year. The loss came in his eleventh UFC appearance.
The announcement was one of many recently for Titan, which former Alchemist Management CEO, Jeff Aronson, purchased a majority stake in just last month. The promotion has revealed a move from it’s broadcasting home at HDNet / AXS TV to CBS Sports Network, with the first event under Aronson on CBS, TFC 27 on Feb. 28, to be headlined by former UFC fighters Mike Ricci and George Gurgel. According to Aronson, the yet to be announced co-main event will also feature 2 former UFC stars.
It’s unclear at this stage whether Australian based fans of the Geelong born Sotiropoulos will be able to watch future Titan broadcasts live.
