There is a strong local contingent in China this weekend competing in the Rebel Fighting Championships card with team-mates Abel Brites and Gerhard Voigt on the card along with New Zealand fighter Luke Jumeau and former Australian based Brazilian Rodolfo Marques Diniz.
The event Rebel FC 4: Battle Royale Ascension takes place at the Qingdao Sports Centre in Shandon, China on Saturday night.
The beginning on the promotion’s welterweight tournament is set to headline the card with Australian Top Team trained Gerhard Voigt facing off against local favourite Kenan Song. It’s a big opportunity for the 31 year-old, who does come into the fight on the back of two losses and faces Song who has won his last five all via stoppages.
New Zealand welterweight Luke Jumeau, 28, who bases himself out of Phuket Top Team will look to keep his strong form on the international stage going when he meets Askar Mozharov from Ukraine.
Also in the tournament, David Hulett and James Chaney clash in an all American match-up while Japanese fighter Kazuma Maruyama will face-off against Yusheng Wang.
On the undercard, Marques-Diniz competes in the featherweight division and faces American Giovanni Moljo while Australia’s Abel Brites will get the night started in a bout against Chinese fighter Guojun Han.
