Gokhan Turkyilmaz (pictured) will face Russian standout, Murad Machaev, on the return show from Dare Fight Sports entitled ‘Rebels of MMA’.
The event is scheduled for October 12 at Club Insanity in Bangkok, Thailand.
Arguably one of Turkyilmaz’s biggest tests to date in Mixed Martial Arts, Machaev, who goes by the alias ‘Strangler’, will take a 12-1 pro record to Bangkok, as he looks to make it four wins in a row.
Machaev has spent the majority of his career on home soil, fighting on local shows in Russia, however the 26 year-old also boasts two Bellator appearances, both in 2012. He lost his debut for the promotion, before rebounding with a unanimous decision win over American, Lorawnt Nelson, at Bellator 81. Also a Sambo fighter, Machaev claimed a silver medal at the 2012 Russian Championships.
Fighting out of the Integrated MMA gym in Brisbane, 27 year-old Gokhan ‘Pitbull’ Turkyilmaz will also be looking to build on his recent success in the cage when he squares off in Bangkok. He most recently fought earlier this month at Carnage in the Cage where he unanimously outpointed Taela Kelly, the win followed a hard earned decision victory (video) over South Korean, Seok Mo Kim, at Pro Fighting Championship 8 in August.
The two fighters will meet in the lightweight division.
Rebels of MMA will be the first offering from Dare Fight Sports since September 2012. The main event will see American Joe Ray take on Filipino fighter Ole ‘Iron Fist’ Laursen.
