Former UFC fighter Rob Wilkinson returns to the cage this Friday in the main event of Hex Fight Series 21 where he will face-off against Daniel Almeida for the Hex light-heavyweight title.
Having lost his UFC debut on short notice against Siyar Bahadurzada, the Tasmanian-based fighter was given the tough task of welcoming Israel Adesanya to the UFC, and such went 0-2 in the promotion. He was released but the 29-year-old is eager than ever to return back to the promotion.
Fight News Australia recently spoke to him ahead of the match-up.
Standing in his way though is BJJ Black Belt Daniel Almeida who brings years of international experience to the cage and will be looking at causing the upset.
Also on the card in a heavyweight title fight, local fighter Ricky Beichun will be looking to stamp his position as a leading heavyweight on the local scene when he meets Samieula Kei.
