Isi Fitikefu has earned a first round submission victory over Brazil’s Vlamir da Silva in their bout at ONE Fight Night 9 in Thailand.
Fitikefu secured a rear naked choke in the last minute of the first round after maintaining a dominant top position throughout the fight. The Sydneysider was able to use a kimura submission attempt to transition to Da Silva’s back, quickly locking in the submission.
In the ring after the fight, Fitikefu spoke about the game plan heading into the match up.
‘Just choke the guy out pretty much…He’s a powerful dude…Everyone’s powerful until you put them on the ground…The goal was just to win, whether it was a decision, a knockout, it was just to win.’
Fitikefu’s performance earned him a $50,000 USD performance of the night bonus from ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong, although he did not believe it at first.

This win raises Fitikefu’s record to 8-1, with 6 stoppages, and earns his first victory in ONE his last fight being a split decision loss in 2022.
