Australian fighters Jake Matthews and Bec Rawlings have both succumb to recent injuries and have been forced off next week’s UFC Fight Night 72 card.
The event takes place at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland on July 18 (July 19 in Australia).
News of Matthews’ withdrawal was announced on the UFC UK twitter account with the Melbourne based lightweight yet to comment on the withdrawal.
Replacing Matthews on the card to take on Mickael Lebout, will be undefeated Finnish fighter Teemu Packalen who will be making his UFC debut on short notice.
The anticipated match-up between Bec Rawlings and Joanne Calderwood will have to wait with the Aussie forced out due to fractured femur neck in her left leg.
Twenty-eight year-old newcomer Cortney Casey has stepped up on late notice to take on Joanne Calderwood.
