Janay Harding will head for the bright lights of Las Vegas later this month with the Gold Coast based fighter selected to compete on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series.
FNA can reveal Harding (3-2) will take on Invicta FC veteran Kelly McGill (2-1) on the eighth installment of the show taking place August 29 (August 30 in Australia). The two fighters will square off in the bantamweight division.
Streaming live on UFC Fight Pass from The Ultimate Fighter Gym, DWTNCS is a weekly MMA event series in search of rising talent in the sport’s ranks with Dana White and UFC matchmakers Sean Shelby and Mick Maynard cageside.
The first Australian based fighter to receive the opportunity, Harding will be eager for an impressive performance against the California native, which could potentially earn her a shot in the big show.
Coming off a dominant stoppage against Ramona Pascual in Hong Kong recently, “Hollowpoint” has momentum behind her going into the fight (video below).
Returning from a 17 month hiatus, McGill will also be eager to catch the attention of the UFC brass in attendance on the night and punch her ticket to the big show.
The 22 year-old hasn’t fought since losing to Aspen Ladd at Invicta FC 16.
