Following her gutsy decision loss to Amber Leibrock earlier this year in her Bellator debut, Janay Harding will be eager to pick up her first win in the promotion when the Australian based featherweight takes on Irish fighter Sinead Kavanagh at Bellator 207.
MMA Fighting confirmed the prelim card pairing on Thursday.
Harding (3-3) found herself on the wrong side of the judges’ scorecards against Leibrock, losing a three round war to the former Invicta FC fighter, who is now scheduled to meet another local fighter in the division, Arlene Blencowe at Bellator 206.
After losing a split decision to Arlene Blencowe 12 months ago, SBG Ireland trained Kavanagh (5-2) bounced back with a quick-fire, 34-second KO against Maria Casanova in her hometown Dublin at Bellator 187.
Bellator 207 takes place Oct. 12 (Oct. 13 in Australia) at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, United States. The main event will feature the promotion’s heavyweight Grand Prix semifinals where Ryan Bader will take on Matt Mitrione. In the co-main event, Roy Nelson is set to collide with Sergei Kharitonov.
