A flyweight contest between Filipino fighter Jenal Lausa and American Eric Shelton is the latest match-up announced for the return of the UFC to Sydney.
Lausa announced the fight recently on his Instagram account.
Lausa (7-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC) competed in both mixed martial arts and professional boxing before signing with the UFC. After winning the Pacific Xtreme Combat flyweight title in January of 2016 he went on to win the interim Philippines Boxing Federation super bantamweight title 7 months later, improving his professional boxing record to 7-0.
Shortly after this he was signed by the UFC and won his debut before dropping a decision to Magomed Bibulatov at UFC 210 this past April.
Shelton (10-4 MMA, 0-2 UFC) is yet to pick up a victory inside the octagon, loosing two split decisions since signing with the UFC. Shelton appeared on Season 24 of “The Ultimate Fighter” where he won two fights and reached the semi-finals before being defeated by eventual winner Tim Elliot.
UFC Fight Night 121 takes place November 18 at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney. The main event features a heavyweight contest between Mark Hunt and Polish fighter Marcin Tybura.
