Fresh off a win in his UFC debut, Jim Crute already has his sights firmly set on his next opponent.
The undefeated light-heavyweight from Bendigo will take on American Ryan Spann at UFC 234 in Melbourne. Alex Oates was first to report the news.
Crute has been campaigning to be put on the Melbourne card ever since his most recent win in Adelaide where he defeated Scotsman Paul Craig with a third-round Kimura. ‘The Brute’ was the only Aussie to get a victory on the card and improved his professional record to 9-0.
Ryan Spann (15-5) won his UFC debut this past September with a unanimous decision victory over Luis Henrique Barbosa de Oliveira. The 27-year-old picked up a UFC contract after winning his fight on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender serieswith a guillotine choke in the first 26 seconds.
UFC 234 takes place at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on February 10th and will be headlined by Rob Whittaker defending his UFC middleweight title against Kevin Gastelum.
