Jimmy “The Brute” Crute’s dream of fighting in the UFC is now one step closer to being realised.
The undefeated Hex Fight Series light heavyweight champion has run through every opponent in his path so far, on his way to achieving a 7-0 record, including four first-round finishes. Now, Bendigo’s Crute recently announced that he has been granted the opportunity to fight on the upcoming second season of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, on July 24th in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The show aired its debut season last year, and produced such names as Sean O’Mally and Boston Salmon. In each episode, ten fighters face off, in five bouts. Then, regardless of outcome, two of the ten are personally selected for a contract by the UFC president himself, Dana White. That fact, along with the fact that all ten competitors have been previously chosen for their impressive skill set, makes for some exciting action inside the cage.
Jim Crute’s opponent on July 24th is Chris “The Big Buck” Birchler, a highly skilled American who is fighting out of Fairfield, New Jersey. Birchler (7-3) will have the edge in experience, having faced some tough fighters during his MMA career, such as former UFC veteran Matt Hamill.
Crute will have twelve weeks to prepare for the bout, the young rising star seems extremely excited for the opportunity ahead.
