City Kickboxing’s Kevin Jousset has earned a dominant unanimous decision victory over China’s Song Kenan in the featured prelim of UFC Vegas 83.
Jousset stayed on the outside in the first round, chopping at Song’s lead leg, and utalising his range to land his jab at will throughout the round. This plan continued into the second, with Jousset continuously kicking Song’s legs and chipping away at him with punches. Song worked to close the distance and landed a heavy hook to Jousset, but the French-New Zealand fighter was able to manage the distance and keep the pressure on his opponent, shooting for a takedown as the second round ended. The third round saw Jousset put Song on the backfoot, walking him down against the cage where he out boxed his opponent to secure the victory.
This is Jousset’s second win in the UFC, his first being a first round submission at UFC 293 in September.
His record raises to 10-2, and his win streak increases to 5 straight victories.
Song is a UFC veteran, this being his ninth fight with the promotion.
