After more than two years since his last bout at Rizin, Trent “Niño Loco” Girdham has had his next bout scheduled, with the 25-year-old set to meet the experienced Genji Umeno next month.
The two will face off under Rizin kickboxing rules on October 23 in Fukuoka, Japan.
Girdham last competed in Japan back in February 2020, where he lost via decision to Naoki Inoue under MMA rules. He has kept himself busy since then, competing locally in boxing.
His Japanese opponent Umeno brings an extensive stand-up resume with more than 65 bouts across Muay Thai and Kickboxing. He is notably a former Rajadamnern 135lb champion.
A Rizin MMA 146lb title fight between Juntarou Ushiku and Kleber Koike Erbst is set to headline the event.
