Kiwi local Luke Jumeau is the latest fighter to get the call up for UFC Auckland as reported by 1 News Now earlier today.
‘The Jedi’ secured his spot on the card after finishing former UFC fighter Vik Grujic with a knock-out victory in January; improving his overall professional record to 11-3 and taking his win streak to six, none of which have made it to judges.
Jumeau’s opponent for his first dance under the bright lights of the world’s biggest MMA promotion will be 29 year old Dominique Steele.
A former Strikeforce and Bellator fighter, the American has had a tumultuous career since making his promotional debut back in July 2015 and is in a must win situation with a current record of 1-3 inside the octagon.
With both men known to be heavy hitters this is sure to be a barn burner for the fans.
UFC Fight Night 110 takes place on June 11 at Auckland’s Vector Arena. The event will be headlined by a heavyweight collision between Mark Hunt and Derrick Lewis.
