Fans have been requesting it for a while and Main Event has finally delivered with the confirmation earlier this week that subscribers will now be able to watch their favourite pay-per-view events in High Definition.
The High Definition version of events will at this stage be available to subscribers at no extra cost with the first event to be shown in high Definition being Sunday’s blockbuster boxing fight between Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.
Australians have previously missed out on watching their favourite boxing and UFC fights with the events being shown in standard definition.
Foxtel subscribers with an iQ HD set top box who are subscribed to the HD channel tier will automatically receive Main Event in High Definition on Channel 518 when an event is ordered as normal.
Foxtel subscribers who have an HD set top box but do not subscribe to the HD tier can watch an HD feed of Main Event on Channel 248 while Optus customers with an HD set top box and who subscribe to the HD tier will need to turn to channel 248 to view Main Event in high definition.
