Twenty-seven year-old Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen will face experienced Japanese fighter Kazunori Yokota on One Championship: Quest for Power.
The promotion confirmed the fight via press release earlier today for the event which takes place at Jakarta Convention Center in Indonesia on 14 January.
Nguyen (7-1) has proved to be a great signing for One Championship, with the Sydney based fighter, winning four times and losing just the once since signing for the promotion back in November 2014. That loss came to current undefeated title holder Marat Gafurov.
His opponent, Yokota (25-6-3) is a 34-fight veteran that made his debut back in 2004. A veteran of Japanese promotions Deep and Sengoku, the Chiba based fighter made his debut in One Championship earlier this year, losing out to Marat Gafurov in a title bout.
Both fighters will now be eager to get another shot at the title.
The card will be headlined by a middleweight title fight between current champion Vitaly Bigdash and challenger Marcin Prachnio.
