A battle between Australian welterweight fighter Matthew Frincu (7-1) and Abubakar Nurmagomedov (11-1-1) will top the preliminary portion of WSOF 30, the promotion announced on Monday.
Frincu, a Five Rings Dojo fighter packed his bags last year to base himself at the acclaimed Arizona Combat Sports facility for the short term. Since the move he has remained undefeated on North American soil, including two victories inside World Series of Fighting to take his total career win streak to five. His lone loss came via submission to undefeated Tyler Manawaroa.
The Aussie will battle 26 year-old Abubakar Nurmagomedov who hails from Dagestan, Russia and is the adopted brother and training partner of UFC standout Khabib Nurmagomedov. Abubakar will ride a three fight win streak into the contest that includes two decision wins in WSOF.
Both fighters are coming off a decision victory against Danny Davis Jr.
In the main event, current WSOF middleweight title holder David Branch will put his title on the line against Clifford Starks while former UFC title contender Jon Fitch faces Joao Zeferina for the WSOF vacant welterweight title.
