Twenty-four year-old Michael Tobin (12-0) has signed a four-fight contract to compete with Aboslute Championship Berkut.
The undefeated fighter was scheduled to face off against Jesse Medina in March and once that event was cancelled he decided to sign with the Russian based promotion.
“Its official! I have signed a 4 fight contract to fight on ACB,” Tobin announced on social media.
“I would like to thank all my family, friends, coaches and training partners who have helped make this possible and most of all ACB for giving me this opportunity,” he added.
“The Great White” has been testing his skills over at Albuquerque, New Mexico training at the acclaimed Jackson Wink MMA academy for the last few weeks. Back in Australia, Tobin spends his time training with former UFC fighter Ben Alloway and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with Vicente Cavalcanti at Southside BJJ.
Already through his short MMA career, Tobin has wrapped up a host of local titles and 11 of his 12 wins have come via submission, with 10 of them in the first round.
Tobin is expected to make his debut in the first half of this year and is looking at competing in either the bantamweight or featherweight divisions.
