A light heavyweight clash between 2014 Brace Champion Mike Turner and Victoria’s Daniel Way headlines Saturday night’s MMA Down Under 7.
The event, which is the first offering from the promotion since September last year, takes place at the Titanium Security Arena (formerly known as the Adelaide Arena).
Fighting out of the Trinity MMA gym in Adelaide, SA, Mike Turner (6-2) goes into the contest with an undefeated 2014 behind him. The 33 year-old defeated both Sam Kei and Connor Murphy last year to take out the Brace light heavyweight championship tournament.
Daniel Way (6-5) steps up to face the hometown favorite on just day’s notice, after Kym Robinson was sidelined with injury. The Pryde Fight Club product will be looking to put a unanimous decision loss to Andrew Mills just two weeks ago at Hex FS 3 behind him.
In the co-headliner Saturday night, Sydney’s Jeff King (7-13) tangles with local fighter Shane Mitchell (6-4) from the Cardio Flex gym in a middleweight bout.
Also on the card, recently crowned Valor featherweight champion Jesse Medina (5-2) returns to the promotion and will meet Christian Burghartswieser. Medina, a BJJ brown belt, will be looking to continue his impressive 2015 campaign after submitting both Ryan Gray and Myles Simpson on the same night at Valor 11. The 23 year-old also holds a 2015 win over Garret Gross at Eternal MMA 9.
