South Australia veteran Kym Robinson (pictured right) made a successful move to the heavyweight division on Saturday night, submitting Storm Damage heavyweight title holder Andrew Machin (pictured left) in the first round of the MMA Showdown 2 main event.
Robinson captured the ISKA title with the short-lived arm-bar victory, while also successfully rebounding from his first round submission loss to TUF: Nations middleweight, and Olympic Judoka, Daniel Kelly back in March.
On the other side of the result, Machin was unable to make it back to back wins following his unanimous decision win over Brandon Sosoli to claim the Storm Damage title 11 months ago in Canberra.
It was a good night for the South Australia fans in attendance with local boy Myles Simpson also picking up a win in the co-main event. Simpson outpointed Canberra native Peter Cross with all three judges scoring the lightweight clash 30-28 x 3 in his favour.
