After taking an incredibly tough fight in his UFC debut, Kiwi fighter Shane Young will get his second opportunity in the octagon when the UFC returns to Singapore.
Young (11-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) made his promotional debut in November of last year against rising Aussie star Alex Volkanovski. After three opponents withdrew from their scheduled fights with Volkanosvki, Young jumped at the opportunity to test his skills in the UFC.
Despite taking the fight on only eight days’ notice, Young managed to go the distance with Volkanovski who has proven himself to be one of the most dangerous featherweights in the division.

Young hails from City Kickboxing in Auckland, the same gym that has produced UFC standouts Dan Hooker and Israel Adesanya. Before the loss to Volkanovski, Young was riding a five-fight win streak and was a former XFC featherweight titleholder.
Young’s opponent at UFC Singapore is Filipino fighter Ronaldo Dy (9–6-1 MMA, 1-2 UFC). Dy had a rocky start to his UFC career losing his first two fights before recently earning a unanimous decision victory over Wuliji Buren.
UFC Singapore (Fight Card) will take place on June 23 and will feature a host of Aussie talent including Tyson Pedro, Jessica-Rose Clark, Jake Matthews and Nadia Kassem. Donald Cerrone will take on Leon Edwards in the main event.
