After winning his opening round bout back in April, Australia’s Rob Wilkinson has put himself in a good position for a playoff spot in the PFL light-heavyweight division and he will be looking to secure a passage to the next round when he faces Viktor Pesta this Saturday, Australian time.
PFL runs a league and playoff format with the top point scorers after the opening two fights, progressing to the playoffs where they will be two fights away from a US$1 million purse.
Wilkinson looked impressive in his debut where he secured a second-round stoppage to earn 5 points against Bruce Souto.
League points are scored not only for wins, but also for the method of victory and round of victory, so getting a finish is important to earn enough points to qualify for the play-offs.

Omari Akhmedov and Antonio Carlos Junior are at the top of the standings on 6 points, shortly followed by Rob Wilkinson and Cory Hendricks on 5 points each.
Since his early UFC release 2018, Wilkinson has bounced back on the local scene where he has taken out Dylan Andrews and Daniel Almeida in MMA fights, while also mixing it up with boxing and kickboxing bouts.
His opponent this Saturday, Viktor Pesta from the Czech Republic, will need a stoppage to stand any chance of progressing after he was knocked out in his opening bout by Omari Akhmedov.
The card will be headlined by a lightweight bout between Clay Collard and Alex Martinez.
