The anticipated local matchup between Priscus Fogagnolo and former UFC fighter Dylan Andrews at Australian Fighting Championship (AFC) 20 will not be going ahead as planned with Fogagnolo today revealing a knee injury will sideline the Judoka for at least 12 months.
AFC 20 will take place at the Melbourne Pavilion on July 28. At this stage there has been no announcement from the promotion about a possible replacement for what was to be a fight for the promotion’s middleweight title.
The news is a huge blow for the 34 year-old Tasmanian, who recently revealed his intentions to work his way into the UFC and challenge himself with the best in the world. A win over former UFC fighter Dylan Andrews would have been a big deal for Fogagnolo’s (10-1) career.
Andrews (18-7) looked impressive in his latest outing, knocking out Papy Abedi earlier this year in Sweden.
