Australian Alex Volkanovski has successfully made weight for his Pacific Xtreme Combat debut scheduled to occur at the University of Guam Fieldhouse in Guam on Friday night.
Training out of Freestyle Fight Gym and Tiger Muay Thai, Volkanovski weighed in for the featherweight bout at 145.9 lbs (66.1 kgs) while his opponent local fighter Kyle Reyes came in marginally less at 145.8 lbs (66.1 kgs).
Kyle Reyes (MMA 5-2), is a veteran of the promotion having fought his whole career in the promotion after making his debut back in 2009. Reyes is coming off a first-round submission over Josh Sapinoso in June.
Volkanovski’s (MMA 7-1) lone loss came at welterweight when he was stopped in the third-round by highly regarded Corey Nelson back in May, 2013. This year, Volkanovski has remained active securing wins at lightweight against Greg Atzori, Rodolfo Marques and Jai Bradney.
Volkanovski will also be looking at backing up after this bout, having been named as the headline act of Wollongong Wars 2 versus David Butt on November 1.
The main event will be headlined by a clash between Kyle Aguon and Rolando Dy for the Pacific Xtreme Combat vacant featherweight title.
