A bantamweight battle between Queensland fighter Reece McLaren and New South Wales based Kian Phan will co-headline the Eternal MMA 4 event scheduled to take place on February 21.
The event is scheduled to take place at the Coolangatta Hotel in Queensland and will be headlined by the previously announced Tim Moore vs Liam Harley match-up.
A former Fightworld Cup bantamweight title holder, Kachi’s own Reece McLaren will be looking at rebounding from a loss in 2013 against Jacob Mahony. Prior to that the Toowoomba based fighter was on a run with back-to-back victories over highly touted locals Pat Promrangka and Chris Morris. McLaren looked to be control in his bout against Mahony, however a late submission from Mahony stole the bout and the Fightworld Cup bantamweight title from McLaren’s hands. McLaren immediately set upon working on his conditioning and after 10 months on the sideline will make his return next month.
Pham is one of the most experienced flyweight fighters in Australia however is coming off back to back losses, most recently to a BJJ Black Belt in the highly acclaimed One Fighting Championships promotion. A nine time veteran of the now defunct Cage Fighting Championships (CFC) promotion, Pham will be going up to the bantamweight division for this entertaining match-up.
Further fights are expected to be announced shortly.
