River Daz has landed a huge opportunity for his next ONE Championship assignment.
“The Filipino Flash” is set to face Thai superstar Seksan Or Kwanmuang in a catchweight Muay Thai contest at ONE Friday Fights 46 on December 22. The card is expected to be a “tent pole” event for ONE, with several big names appearing at the mecca of Muay Thai – the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Daz is hot off the heels of his maiden ONE victory, which came in a fight that he took on short notice against another Thai athlete in Nonthakit Tor Morsri. Stepping in on just two days’ notice, the Melbourne native prevailed by unanimous decision after a pulsating, back-and-forth battle.
Seksan is a living legend in Muay Thai.
“The Man Who Yields To No One” is revered in the sport for the fearless, all-action fighting style that has led him to four world titles across his 282-fight professional career.
The 34-year-old has been a staple of the weekly Friday Fights platform and is riding a seven-fight win streak since making his promotional bow in January.
Most recently, he made his full ONE debut with a unanimous decision win over Karim Bennoui at ONE Fight Night 16 earlier this month.
The main event will see ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai finally put his belt on the line against fellow-Thai superstar Superbon Singha Maynn. The pair have suffered from two cancellation of the highly anticipated bout.
The full ONE Friday Fights 46 card is still to be announced.
