It’s been 18-months since Australian Robert Lisita last fought and the exciting striker will make a highly anticipated return next month when he meets Russia’s Timofey Nastyukhin.
The match-up was announced via a press-release from the promotion for the One: Kingdom of Champions event. It will be the promotions first event in Thailand, with the Impact Arena in Bangkok playing host.
“Ruthless” Rob Lisita (MMA 15-7, One 1-2) last competed back in October 2014, where he was submitted by current champion Marat Gafurov, which was Lisita’s second loss in a row after succumbing to Eric Kelly. Prior to that the 33-year-old had defeated highly touted Japanese fighters Takeshi Inoue and Yusuke Kawanago.
Tiger Muay Thai trained Nastyukhin (MMA 9-2, One 2-1) also comes into the contest on the back of a loss after losing to Brazilian Herbert Burns back in September.
Both Nastyukhin and Lisita will be eager to climb up the ladder for a potential title shot. The two were previously scheduled to fight back at May last year, however weigh-in complications deemed Lisita unfit to continue and the fight was scrapped.
The event will be headlined by hometown hero and One strawweight champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke facing Yoshitaka Naito while One featherweight champion Mart Gafurov will look to defend his title when he meets tough Japanese fighter Kazunori Yokota.
